Get This - Cancer Drug Actually Causes Cancer
In an unusually ironic twist on medicine, Tamoxifen, a drug prescribed to prevent breast cancer, has instead been found to actually cause cancer. Yes, you read that right. The drug was thought to prevent excess estrogen binding, hence halting cancer from forming. But according to a study published in the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer, the treatment of breast cancer with tamoxifen results in an increased risk of uterine cancer incidence and mortality.
This is just one in a growing line of studies published, raising serious concerns about the increased risk of uterine cancer for women who take tamoxifen as a cancer preventive drug. Yet despite these concerns, tamoxifen is still on the market. Why? Because our approach to cancer treatment is based on profit, not safety and effectiveness. Many of them are given to terminally ill patients, and ironically again, many of these die not from their disease, but from the drugs themselves. (International Journal of Gynecological Cancer 2007)
Cancer drug costs rose nearly 16 percent in 2006, which begs the question: are they worth it? No, because they do not treat the cause of your problem. But pharmaceutical companies earn millions of dollars based upon the deception that the more serious and life threatening the disease, the more expensive the drug should be. This only serves to exploit the desperation of people who are suffering. And as soon as a more expensive version of the drug is developed, the older counterpart is said to be magically worthless.
You can’t treat cancer by swallowing a chemical cocktail. Lifestyle changes are always a better solution - something even the American Cancer Society now says can bring about a 62 percent reduction in this disease. If you have cancer:
- Cut out all offending habits
- Cut out all processed foods
- Get sufficient omega-3 fatty acids into your diet
- Get plenty of sun exposure, or use an oral Vitamin D
- Get lots of exercise to drive down insulin levels and keep a healthy bodyweight
- Get plenty of fresh foods into your diet, which includes loads of vegetables
- Keep foods organic to avoid unnecessary chemical exposure
- Get plenty of quality sleep
- Reduce your exposure to environmental toxins such as household chemical cleaners, synthetic air fresheners and air pollution.
